Kadiwaku Foundation first-ever annual conference

The Kadiwaku Foundation’s first-ever gathering for Disabled Entrepreneurs was held in Kinshasa during 3-4 December 2018 at the Maison des Droits de l’Homme (Carter Center-Kinshasa). As part of Inclusive Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program, this conference provided the opportunity to connect recent program graduates with Kadiwaku community of alumni to promote collaboration and building their relationships.

The Kadiwaku Foundation’s inclusive entrepreneurship accelerator programme supports individuals that have otherwise limited access to entrepreneurship opportunities to develop the skills needed to start their own business. Duly launched, the program will be implemented in seven regions across the country.

The conference brought together over 50 participants (underserved entrepreneurs) from 12 cities of Democratic Republic of Congo. More than 100 people followed the event through social media. The young entrepreneurs who attended the two days skill-building conference have received firsthand business empowerment information and support from business experts and other entrepreneurs to help them run and grow their business professionally and make profit.

The Kadiwaku Family Foundation wishes to thank all the disabled and non-disabled entrepreneurs who participated in this conference and is grateful to the United States African Development Foundation (USADF), an agency of the United States Government, for providing the funds for the implementation of Inclusive entrepreneurship acceleration program. We also acknowledge the supports from our partners including Echoing Green (EG), Handicap International, Groupe Triumvirat Sarl GT Sarl), Maison des Droits de l’Homme (MDH/Centre Carter), a Carter Center project in DR Congo and East Eagle Foundation (EEF).
